      The website quintessentialcinema.com was founded in 2006 to assist those who seek quality entertainment only. Quintessential Cinema is a voluntary, non-commercial project dedicated to excellence in cinema. It is the culmination of one whole year of continuous straining work to select and collect each and every film that has any chance of providing quality entertainment. These selections were made from an initial list of more than 15,000 English language titles. A large selection of films is presented so as to cater the needs of both casual movie-goers and film buffs alike. My mission is to prevent the average film buff from wasting his time and money in watching unnecessary movies. The films listed on this website are those that I chose for my personal video collection, which now stands at more than 5000 movies.

This website is in its infancy. I am confident of my selection of films. At the same time I realize that the site, in its present state, is no more than an experiment by a newcomer to web programming. I am seeking professional help to reconstruct this site. The form and style of this website will change radically in the days to come. Articles on the technical aspects of film and video technology will be placed when they are completed. There might not be much change in the list of films. But I intend to provide URLs to reviews and add some reviews of my own and any quality contributions.
